The Finger Lakes Mountain Bike Club (FLMBC) serves the southern portion of the
Finger Lakes region of upstate New York. Its headquarters are located in the
historic Near Westside neighborhood district in Elmira, New York along the
Chemung River.
The Finger Lakes Mountain Bike Club's primary purpose is to educate the public
on the positive aspects of mountain biking while eradicating the misconceptions
of the past.
Working closely with the Friends of the Chemung River Watershed, along with
other land managers and government, we hope to extend the already existing
Chemung River Trails System in Elmira to Corning, New York and south through
Elmira to the Pennsylvania border.
The FLMBC organizes group rides throughout the southern portion of the Finger
Lakes region for riders of all ages and skill levels.
We can be seen at community events, educating the public, and hosting bike
rodeos for children teaching them proper bike safety and etiquette skills.
The Finger Lakes Mountain Bike Club Chapter of the National Mountain Bike
Patrol regularly patrols area trails to help trail users in need of assistance,
whether it be medical, mechanical, or directions. We also report situations to the
land manager and promote IMBA's rules of the trail.
We support Rails to Trails Conservancy as well as the Catherine Valley Trail
where we are Trail Stewards
Female cyclists may enjoy our woman only rides and events and may opt to join
our local chapter of WOMBATS, (Women's Mountain Bike and Tea Society) a
national organization for women mountain bikers.

FLMBC hosts seminars on bike maintenance, bike skills and other outdoor related
topics such as map and compass skills and first aid . Look for dates.
Some members of the Finger Lakes Mountain Bike Club are also avid hikers. The
