Finger Lakes Mountain Bike Club's (FLMBC) primary purpose is concentrating on mountain
bikers. We realize that every cyclist has a different reason for riding. Health reasons, stress
relief, solitude, competition or just the excitement of screaming down a singletrack, are all valid
seasons to participate in the sport of mountain biking. In our opinion, any reason is a good
reason to ride a bicycle.
FLMBC appreciates the fact that there is a diversified bicycling
community among us consisting of cyclists from all walks of life, pedalling their bike for
whatever reason floats their boat. In today's economy, choosing to ride a bicycle is not a bad
decision. With the gas prices constantly rising, we are always looking for cheaper
transportation and bargain entertainment. Some call it a hobby, others call it a passion, some
are just plain obsessed with everything the almighty bicycle has to offer. We choose to call the
latter "a way of life." With that said, we have developed this page for the everyday cyclist, the
person who commutes to work by bike, the person who saves on fuel by going to the store on
two wheels or the environmentalist who relies on their bicycle as a major form of transportation
as well as recreation.
